Terms of Service
Last updated 9 September 2026
These terms cover your use of The Tutor Resource, operated by Our Offbeat Life LLC, a limited liability company registered in Nevada, United States. Creating an account means you accept them.
1. Who we are and what this covers
The Tutor Resource is a platform for independent language tutors: a lesson library, a classroom, student records, and the business tools around them. It is operated by Our Offbeat Life LLC. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean that company, and “you” means the account holder.
These terms cover the platform. Our Privacy Policy covers what we do with data, and forms part of this agreement. The affiliate program has separate terms of its own.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
- Give accurate details and keep them current.
- Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- One account is for one tutor. Sharing a login is the one thing that undercuts everyone paying properly, so it is grounds for suspension. If you have a team, the school plans exist for that.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has your credentials.
3. Plans, billing and refunds
The free plan covers up to 3 students, does not expire, and needs no card. Paid plans raise or remove that limit and unlock more of the lesson library. Tutor Tools+ is a separate add-on. Current prices are on the pricing page.
Payment is taken by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings, in one click and without contacting us.
Refunds. Annual plans canceled within 7 days of purchase or renewal are refunded in full. Monthly plans are not refunded for the period already running, but you can cancel before the next one starts. Cancel a paid plan and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, then move back to the free plan. If something has gone genuinely wrong, email us and we will sort it out.
We may change prices. Existing subscribers get at least 30 days’ notice by email before a change affects them.
4. What you may do with the lessons
Your plan gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use our lesson content with your own students, for as long as your plan includes it.
You may:
- Teach from the lessons on any video platform you like, including marketplaces such as Preply, iTalki, Cambly, Outschool and Allschool, subject to that platform’s own rules on third-party material.
- Send homework sheets and lesson materials to your own students.
- Print materials for your own sessions.
- Keep the session notes, reports and records you create.
You may not:
- Resell, sublicense or distribute the lessons, whether or not for money.
- Upload them to another platform, drive, group or library, or hand them to other teachers.
- Share your login, or use one account to serve more than one tutor.
- Strip out branding, or present the material as your own work.
We keep ownership of the lesson content and the platform. This license ends when your access to that content ends.
5. Your content and your students
What you create stays yours: your students’ records, your session notes, your reports, and any material you upload. You give us only the permission we need to store it and show it back to you.
You are responsible for what you record about your students, for having a proper basis to hold it, and for telling them or their parents. Where a student is a child, obtaining any consent needed is yours to do. You can export your data at any time, and closing your account removes it. Section 7 of the Privacy Policy sets out how long things are kept.
6. Assisted drafting
Some features draft text for you: the Teaching Assistant, the feedback writer, the homework creator and report translation. They are drafting tools. Read what they produce before it reaches a student or a parent, because you are responsible for what you send. The text you supply is passed to Google to generate the result, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not use the platform for anything unlawful, or to harass or harm anyone.
- Do not try to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer it, or reach data that is not yours.
- Do not upload malware, or material you have no right to upload.
- Do not misrepresent your relationship with us.
8. Availability
We work to keep the platform up but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may change or retire features. Where a change materially reduces what you are paying for, we will tell you first.
9. Ending the agreement
You can close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, particularly section 4 or 7. If we close your account without you having broken them, we refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The platform is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we do not guarantee any particular result for you or your students.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost income, lost students or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will email you or place a notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept the new version. The date at the top always reflects the current one.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada and the United States. Before either of us starts a claim, we agree to try to resolve it directly, and then through mediation. If that fails, the courts of Nevada have jurisdiction.
