Description
Your students will love to have fun in the first grade classroom! They will begin to learn more complex phonics skills such as the long vowel sounds, diphthongs, and blends. They will be introduced to activities that will challenge them to create words using the phonics skill being taught. Students will review high frequency words from Grade K and learn more complex high frequency words within each lesson. They will learn to accurately use the words in complete sentences. The curriculum includes short stories in each lesson that will help students use the current phonics skills and high frequency words to become familiar with their usage. Students will also have fun with the topics involving pets, wild animal habitats, friends, jobs, and many more! The students will have fun dancing to songs and engaging with the stories while still learning. Multiple grammar skills will also be introduced to students including punctuation, singular and plural nouns, verbs, and many more! Your students will not want to leave the first grade classroom!
Hi! My name is Alyssa! I have been teaching for 12 years and teaching online for the past 4 years. I began teaching online with GogoKid and VIPKID and am now tutoring English privately! I have 3 degrees: Bachelor’s Degree in Middle School Education, Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. I have 2 children of my own, and am very familiar with the current English curriculum. I thoroughly enjoy making interactive, fun lessons for my students.
