Kindergarten

•The students will be introduced to the basic sounds in the English language.
• They will engage in fun activities where they can interact with the teacher while learning!
• Many songs where students can get moving are incorporated into the units.
• This curriculum includes short stories where students will become familiar with basic sounds and sight words while learning about animals, feelings, shapes, and many other topics for children.
• Each lesson includes a warm up, song or poem, phonics activity, high frequency words, and stories.
• Many of the lessons will include a grammar section where students will begin to learn basic grammar skills.

First Grade

•Students will learn more complex phonics skills such as long vowel sounds, diphthongs, and blends.
• They will be introduced to activities that challenge them to create words using the phonics skill being taught.
• Students will review high frequency words from Kindergarten lessons and learn more complex high frequency words within each lesson.
• The curriculum includes short stories in each lesson that help students use the current phonics skills and high frequency words to become familiar with their usage.
• Multiple grammar skills will also be introduced to students including punctuation, singular and plural nouns, verbs, etc.

I have 3 degrees: Bachelor’s Degree in Middle School Education, Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling.
